Did you hear the news last week that Adobe is testing out new pricing for their Creative Cloud Photography plan? If not, we’ll give you the low down. With some usersAdobe is testing increasing the subscription price from $10 a month to $20 a month! You can read more about the price jump here. If this move has steered you away from purchasing or continuing your subscription with Adobe, ACDSee has you covered!

ACDSee offers perpetual and subscription-based products so customers have the choice to purchase the product outright or take advantage of our subscription plan, ACDSee 365 for LESS than $10. Our Home Plan is $8.90 a month and our Personal Plan is $6.90 a month (all prices in USD). You can compare the plans here to see which one suits you best.

With Adobe’s Creative Cloud $10 subscription plan, they offer access to Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, and 20GB of cloud storage. But if you are mainly using Creative Cloud for photography and video editing, it may be a good idea for you to switch to ACDSee

Now you may be thinking, well how can ACDSee compare to Adobe at such a reduced price? Well letcompare and contrast the similarities and differences between the products.

Adobe’s Creative Cloud $10 photography & videography offerings:

  • Lightroom: photo editing, organization, anywhere editing, worryfree storage
  • Lightroom Classic: Desktop only, local storage only, recommended for experienced photo editors, organization-manual keywords
  • Photoshop: More editing and graphic design options
  • 20 GB Cloud Storage

ACDSee $10 photography & videography offerings – Home Plan:

  • ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2019: Photo editing similar to Lightroom, facial recognition-based organization, comprehensive RAW editor, digital asset managementeasy to use for finding, organizing, and sharing photos
  • ACDSee Photo Studio for Mac 5: Photo editing similar to Lightroom & Apple’s Aperture, locationbased organization, compare images, etc.
  • ACDSee Video Studio Converter Pro 5: Support for more devices, the ability to convert multiple videos to different video formats all in a single session, a convenient YouTube uploader with Facebook and Twitter sharing built right in, skins, and DVD burning and ripping.
  • ACDSee Video Studio 3: Screen recording & video editing, track stacking, support for still images, editing freedom—cut, split, align, and more.
  • ACDSee Web & SeeDrive Cloud Storage: Drag & drop photos from the desktop to ACDSee Web space, set up automatic syncing, with in-app sharing to social media, email, or URLs, and secure storage in the cloud.

You can install Home Plan on up to 5 PCs or Macs, and you get free upgrades!

In summary, Photoshop offers only photo editing software. Lightroom and Lightroom Classic are very similar products, except Lightroom Classic doesn’t have cloud storage and is aimed at experienced photographers. Similarly, ACDSee offers two similar products: Photo Studio Ultimate 2019 and Photo Studio for Mac 5. Ultimate 2019 can be used on a PC, and you can utilize our free app, Mobile Sync. Photo Studio for Mac 5 can be used on Mac computers. Unlike Creative Cloud, our Home Plan subscription offers two video editing products. This can be beneficial for photographers working with both photography and cinematography. Both products offer cloud storage.

With the similarities and differences there is a lot for users to think about. But one main factor to consider is that our product is $8.90/month and Adobe is $9.99 jumping to $20 a month.

After reading this, are you wanting to make the switch from Adobe to ACDSee? We have made it easy for you to migrate your photos from Adobe to ACDSee here. Want to just try it out? We have a 30-day free trial for all our products.

Don’t want either subscription. If ACDSEE goes completely that way I as well many others will kick them to the curb just like Adobe…

Hi Austin, ACDSee has perpetual and subscription pricing and we do not have any plans to change that.
